When even the Washington Post is forced to acknowledge Joe Biden’s dishonesty you know that it’s really, really bad.
Yet that is what the normally Biden-friendly paper did when it called out the nation’s 46th president for one of his frequent lies. This one is about Georgia’s new election integrity law that makes it harder for Democrats to cheat.
According to Biden, “What I’m worried about is how un-American this whole initiative is. It’s sick. It’s sick”, he said. “Deciding that you’re going to end voting at five o’clock when working people are just getting off work”.
The bogus claim was so far over the line that “fact checker” Glenn Kessler hit him with the dreaded “Four Pinocchios”, which is basically the same as saying “liar, liar, pants on fire”. This marks a rare departure from the norm and shows the media actually did their jobs.
According to Kessler, “One could understand a flub in a news conference. But then this same claim popped up in an official presidential statement”. He added, “Not a single expert we consulted who has studied the law understood why Biden made this claim, as this was the section of law that expanded early voting for many Georgians”.
However, the White House isn’t about to let the truth get in the way of a really big lie. Jen Psaki doubled down during Thursday’s presser when she was put on the spot over activist boycotts that were based on Biden’s fib.
.@PressSec doubles down on Pres. Biden’s claim (given four Pinocchios by the Washington Post) that the Georgia voting bill cuts off voting hours early:

Circle-back Psaki was asked whether Biden’s remarks had “in part” led to the “community organizers” threatening Georgia-based companies like Delta, Coke, and Home Depot with boycotts to get them to pressure the state to reverse the law. She responded, “It standardizes the ending of voting everyday at 5:00 p.m. right? It just gives options?”
Then, when the reporter tried to answer, she filibustered, “It gives options to expand it, right, but it standardizes it at 5:00 p.m.? It also makes it so that outside groups can’t provide water or food to people in line, right?”
She continued, “It makes it more difficult to absentee vote? Are those things all correct?”, and after briefly letting him speak cut him off again, “our tone is not changing“.
“We have concerns about the specific components of the package, including the fact that it makes it harder, and more difficult, for people to vote by limiting absentee options, by making it not viable, not possible, for people to provide water to who are in line, by not standardizing longer hours, so if you’re making it harder to vote, no we don’t support that”, added Psaki.
And just like that, Biden’s falsehood was allowed to pass with devastating consequences for Atlanta’s workers and businesses. On Friday MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred moved the All-Star Game based on the lie.
Not that it should be any great shock that Biden has little use for the truth. After all, he based a good part of his campaign on one of the most brazen lies in U.S. political history: the Charlottesville “very fine people on both sides” hoax. He isn’t about to stop lying now that he’s in the White House.
