Natalie McGill takes a look back at the story of the Quaker abolitionist Benjamin Lay who opposed the institution of slavery and angered fellow-Quakers in the 18th Century. The 4’11 activist used theatrics and regular old risk-taking to spread his message of racial equality and infuriate slaveholders. Badass.
