Hong Kong Police Tackle School Girl Amid Protests

A video taken in Hong Kong, Sunday, September 6, shows police officers detaining a 12-year-old girl during protests over the weekend.

Hong Kong’s Chief Executive Carrie Lam refused to comment on the video, saying that it “would not be right” to do so at a news conference on Tuesday.

She added that every incident would be investigated.

In a statement posted on Facebook by Hong Kong police, they said they had told the protesters on Sai Yeung Choi Street to disperse.

Following the order, the girl was among those who were intercepted for a stop and search. (AP)
