Huge crowds took to the streets in Belarus on second weekend of mass demonstrations calling for the resignation of president Alexander Lukaschenko. Opponents accuse him of rigging the result of the presidential election two weeks ago. The authoritarian leader has responded with a show of defiance – and has threatened further crackdowns to restore order.
