A Michigan Teacher Was Allegedly Fired for a ‘Pro-Trump’ Tweet. Wait Until You See the Tweet …

In the olden days, teachers weren’t allowed to give their political opinions. I remember asking my high school U.S. history teacher who she liked in the 1992 primary and seeing the look of panic because she wasn’t sure how she could answer that. Of course, things have changed since then, though only for teachers who have a certain political opinion. A liberal political opinion. Others can get fired for sharing their opinions. Like this Michigan teacher and coach who tweeted *checks notes* that Donald Trump is our president.

“I was required to meet with [human resources], the superintendent, and my principal [on July 10]. They initially took my statement on why I tweeted those tweets and they told me they would have a decision about my future employment in the upcoming days. When they completed the meeting, I was told I had the option to either be fired or resign.” Kucera said.

Neither the school district nor the principal responded to requests for comment.

But … Donald Trump IS our president.

There could very well be a part of the story missing here. Just like there was a part of the story missing when CNN ran an out-of-context video of Nicholas Sandmann staring at a protester. But considering the way teachers have been carrying on lately (see LA TEACHERS UNION WILL ONLY REOPEN SCHOOLS IF WE … ELIMINATE CHARTER SCHOOLS AND DEFUND THE POLICE and TEXAS WANTS TO REOPEN SCHOOLS AND TEACHERS CLAIM THEY ARE NOW ‘WRITING OUT THEIR WILLS’), this is well within the realm of possibility. It’s at the very least a “whoa if true.”

The teacher — said to be apolitical and popular — didn’t say he liked Donald Trump. He didn’t rant about building a wall or pledge his allegiance to Q. He simply tweeted that yes, Donald Trump is the president of the United States. That’s it. That’s the tweet. Apparently if you write anything other than “sucks” after the words “Donald Trump,” it’s controversial in high school these days.

Maybe homeschooling isn’t a bad idea. Just as long as parents get their school taxes refunded to do it.
