Iran has reported more COVID-19 fatalities. On February 22, the death toll rose to six, and more than 20 people were reported as infected. That’s a jump of more than a third in a single day. Iran has ordered the closure of schools, universities and cultural centers following the deaths of six people from the coronavirus. The authorities have also suspended all sports events for 10 days, starting from Monday.
The epidemic surfaced on February 19, when authorities announced the first deaths – two elderly people in Qom. They were also the first confirmed deaths from the virus in the Middle East. Iran has 29 confirmed infections and nearly 800 suspected ones. #coronavirus
