The obsessed ex accused of killing celebrity sex therapist Amie Harwick has been released from jail on a $2 million bond, court records show.
Gareth Pursehouse, 41, was released at 10:25 p.m. Tuesday — just three days after he was accused of throwing Drew Carey’s former fiancée from the balcony of her third-floor apartment.
He was ordered to return to court March 10 on suspicion of murder, the records show.
“He has suffocated me, punched me, slammed my head on the ground, kicked me,” she wrote in court documents detailing some of the alleged abuse.
“This has resulted in bruises, inability to walk, bleeding, broken blood vessels around face, whiplash, sore neck and back,” she said, according to the report. None of the restraining orders were active at the time of her death, the paper noted.
Pursehouse saw Harwick just weeks before her death when he appeared as a photographer at a starry porn awards show hosted by Stormy Daniels.
The run-in seemed to reignite his obsessive preoccupation with her,” claimed Harwick’s friend who was with her that night, fellow sex therapist Hernando Chaves.
“He was irate, angry, aggressive, verbally abusive, distraught, under duress,” Chavez told CBS.
“And she was trying to calm him down, she was trying to help him soothe, she was trying to be compassionate and empathic.”
Authorities arrested Pursehouse after Harwick died at her Hollywood Hills home early Saturday, after LAPD were called to reports of a woman screaming.
Los Angeles County coroner officials determined that Harwick died of blunt force injuries to her head and torso, the Los Angeles Times said.
Harwick had been engaged to “Price is Right” host Carey, 61, from January 2018 before calling off the relationship later that year.
Carey said he was “overcome with grief” at the death of the ex he called a “positive force in the world.”
