As of Thursday morning, there were 553 confirmed cases of novel coronavirus worldwide, most of which are in southern and central China. Over 1,300 people are under medical observation after having close contact with confirmed cases. Outside China, the U.S., Japan, South Korea, Thailand and Singapore have reported confirmed cases. How serious is the situation now?
