A Japan Coast Guard ship arrived in India’s port city of Chennai, Monday, January 13, for joint exercises with India.

Japan’s commanding officer Captain Kiyoshi Harada said the exercises will strengthen co-operation between the two nations in combating piracy.
The joint exercise comes under a Memorandum of Cooperation signed between the coast guards of both the countries in 2006. (Reuters)
