These chicks may have only just hatched but their days are already numbered: forty-two days to be exact.
During their six week life-cycle, their weight will increase at an astonishing rate, from just a few grams to nearly three kilos.
Poland is Europe’s leading poultry exporter – last year the country reared, slaughtered, and distributed more than a billion chickens.
That’s ten times as many as a decade ago. (AFP)
