1MDB scandal: Malaysia to ask U.S. for $1 bln in assets recovered from Jho Low

Malaysia has announced on Thursday that it will claim over one billion U.S. dollars in assets that Washington recovered from fugitive financier, Jho Low. This comes after the U.S. Justice Department struck a deal with Low. The financier faced lawsuits that sought to recoup assets he allegedly bought with money diverted from a Malaysian state investment fund. Low has called the deal historic, as he faces charges in Malaysia and the U.S. over his role in the scandal. #Malaysia #US
