Ruth Davidson announces her resignation as Scottish Tory leader

The leader of the Scottish Conservatives cited both professional and personal reasons as she announced her resignation, having recently started a family. Davidson also stopped short of condemning Boris Johnson’s decision to prorogue parliament, and urged MPs to vote for a Brexit deal. ‘You’ve had three opportunities, you blew every one of them.
