I don’t know about you, but I’m not crazy about the whole craft beer thing. I could care less about the oaky aromas or the quality of the hops in my brew. My only concern when it comes to beer is if it’ll get you drunk. Apparently, some lefties aren’t crazy about craft beer either, but for a completely different reason.
Given that big beer makers for decades courted male consumers with sexist TV ads featuring women in bikinis, it perhaps surprises no one that the craft beer business has become a haven for white males — most of whom happen to be hipsters. Sadly, what counts as diversity in this industry is the clean-shaven minority mixing with the bearded majority.
“They may be tapping out white males as a source of growth,” said Mike Kallenberger. He runs Tropos Brand Consulting, which specializes in craft beer. “The consensus is, in terms of race, craft beer hasn’t done as good a job of reaching out.”
Since when does a beer company have to “reach out” to specific races. Call me old-fashioned, but I was always under the impression their only job was to brew and bottle their product and put it out there. Whoever wants to drink it buys it. Though, apparently this system isn’t good enough for lefties.
This is the future the left yearns for. A future where you can’t even pop a top without considering the racial ramifications of your beer-swilling. Identity politics is infecting every facet of our lives like a cancer. Pretty soon, you won’t be able to gnaw on a toothpick without some lefty ninnymuggins giving you a diatribe about deforestation and sustainably-sourced timber. You can always count on them to suck all the joy out of life. Sad.
